Semipro Xball

The Semipro Division of the NXL is solid, with 6-7 teams that could win any given event— but there’ s no 2023 PaintballFIT or Blastcamp in this group. That said, coming into the Midwest Open BR Factory held the top Semipro spot in the season’ s rankings race with 192 points after two second place finishes in the season’ s first two events. Through just two events BR Factory was the only team to make it as far as the semifinals in all of the Semipro Division.
As we often see in high-level competitive paintball, BR Factory, the division’ s best team, lost their first game, then came back with three straight preliminary round wins. Even better, New York Wrecking crew, the third seed coming into this event, won all four of their preliminary round games and most of them weren’ t close. Wolfpack, Shock, Wyldside Distortion, Los Angeles Collision, Preferred Mob, Philly Corrupt and the New Jersey Jesters all won three of their four preliminary round games and advanced.
TppCrew, who barely advanced with two wins, trounced Philly Corrupt 6-1 in the ocho rounds and Wolfpack, who also barely advanced, beat Preferred Mob 4-3. Both would lose in the quarterfinals.
Looking ahead to the semifinals BR Factory continued their strong play with a 6-1 win over Shock, while the New Jersey Jesters sent New York Wrecking Crew home early, 5-3.
