Sunday attrition is always a hurdle for commanders, and this game was no exception. Riley credited his players with showing some discipline on Saturday, however. And he said that made a tremendous difference.
“ We don’ t stay up late,” he said.“ That’ s not our thing. We went to bed early and took care of ourselves so that we could be as efficient and effective on the field as possible.”
Big E, Whitey, and Riley all gave a shout out and tremendous credit to the referee staff and Shannon Leigh in particular.
“ They are out there all weekend long in that heat,” Big E said.“ And they did a tremendous job considering the conditions.”
Off field, things were equally as spicy. The DJ kept the party rolling, and
attendees had quality food, drink, and entertainment.
In addition, Chris Fosnacht of Mid- Atlantic Mayhem collaborated with Robert Panarella from Enemy of the State to coordinate an auction and raffle to raise funds for Pathfinders for Autism, a local organization in Maryland that serves children and families impacted by severe autism. The raffle was supported by industry organizations including Nova, Planet Eclipse, World War Paint, Dyzana Sports, and Gatormaille amongst others. Prizes included a New York Xtreme LV2 TWSTR donated by Shane Nelson and a Sentinel Autococker from Nova. By the event’ s end, more than $ 6,000 was raised for the Pathfinders, breaking a record for the annual event.
In the end, the Red team would emerge from the weekend victorious by a staggering score of 1029 to 522.
