He then went on to describe how they utilized multiple squads to maintain field control. If the battle line was in one place, such as Black Snake Bayou, Big E would send one team to the boats field and another Tiki Village to hold the position. Then, as the line was pushed back, the Blue team fell right into them.
Riley attributed their success to the coordination of the leadership, but also the cooperation of his teams.
“ G didn’ t want to be in CP all weekend, because that sucks,” Red XO Zach Riley said.“ So we worked with Big E, who has run and won this game multiple times. But the teams actually worked with us,
and they did everything we asked of them. That’ s why we were able to be successful.”
Both Big E and Riley gave credit to the teams for keeping in communication and maintaining a great cycle pace. To keep the flow of communication steady, Big E purchased a ten-pack of radios and made sure that every squad leader had one. He stayed in constant communication and cycled teams on and off the field allowing them ample time to rehydrate and recuperate from the heat, but also guaranteeing reinforcements were available to relieve squads as they left the field to recharge.
