With many players delayed by weather, Saturday saw an influx of players registering late. According to Whitey, those late arrivals seemed to be more in favor of the Red team. And that is inline with Henny’ s assessment.
“ I brought all the outsiders into the state. Florida, Georgia, Cali, Carolinas, New York, Vermont, list goes on,” he said. The fact that he had the traveling teams would support the Saturday bump to Red, as the Blue players were already there.
In addition, Henny did a tremendous amount of recruiting online and ran a boisterous social media campaign to draw in players from afar. According to Whitey, that didn’ t help his cause on site though. In an effort to balance the teams from the influx, players were asked to register Blue, Whitey said.
“ With all of the social media trash talk, no one wanted to switch,” Whitey said. And as a result, the Renegades played with the blue team all weekend to keep things even.
But the organization of the Red team couldn’ t be matched. On Saturday, the Crimson Tide of the Red team rolled over the Blue, and never allowed Blue a chance to fully engage, keeping them spawn trapped for the vast majority of the day.
When they did make it onto the field, Big E used tactics to eliminate them quickly.
“ We would make a tactical retreat from buildings to draw them in, and then bunker-bust the building to eliminate their entire force,” Big E said.
