On June 20- 24, the third leg of the Super Game series came in hot. Always hosted at the OX flagship park, Outdoor Xtreme Chesapeake City, SG East promises a sampling of every style of paintball play for players including tournament paintball, a magfed event, and of course, the big game experience. To add more, free camping for the three-day event always attracts crowds, families, and late-night fun. This year, the fiercest competitor may have been Mother Nature herself. As setup for the event commenced, a microburst storm brought torrential rains and hurricane-force winds that whipped through the property. Then the heat came, and dear lord, was it hot. Saturday and Sunday, the thermometers flirted with field temperatures around 100 degrees fahrenheit.
Still, players were undaunted. The teams this year were divided fairly
evenly between the New Jersey and the Maryland coalitions. The Red team was led by General Gianluca Marchione of Soup Can Cocks who selected XOs Zach Riley of Stud Muffins and Big E Eric Holland, the legacy leader of Misfit Militia amongst other honors. The Blue team was headed by General Henny DaBoss of Timber Ghosts with XOs Wu Rodriguez of The Nomads and Matt“ Suicide” Santos of East Coast Hunterz. And the rogue element Renegades was led by Mike“ Whitey” White of the 13th Legionnaires.
To start the weekend off, the Blue dominated the Spoils of War game on Friday. They faltered a bit during the magfed Pistol Challenge, however, and then, according to Whitey, they were smashed during the night game and never fully recovered. www. paintball. media
