and upgrade the feed neck , the bottle adapter , the trigger and three-way and the back cap gave Eclipse a pretty good set of directions for making a “ next level ” affordable mechanical paintball gun that checks off all the boxes on the spec sheet . Pulling the Etha3M out of the box , players will find a lightweight , aluminum and glassreinforced nylon-built paintball gun weighing barely two pounds that is standard with a metal , clamping feed neck , an adjustable metal trigger WITH a standard Eclipse FL 3-way valve , a POPS on / off bottle adapter and , most importantly , the ability to quickly pop the Gamma Core bolt system right out the back of the gun without tools for cleaning and maintenance . The Etha3M will accept any Autococker-threaded barrel , but the stock barrel is a very capable two-piece aluminum Shaft5 model with an impressive internal hone and porting to reduce noise . There are no external air hoses , velocity adjustment is quick and simple through the regulator in the grip frame , and , in terms of reliability , the Gamma Core spool valve is about as proven as it can get .
At some point we had to stop talking and get paintballs in the air , and this I did . To play test the Etha3M I drove it all the way to the legendary EMR Paintball to play the Castle Frontlines Blue ’ s Crew reunion game . Weather was pretty ideal , Valken and G . I . Sportz paintballs were available and I ’ d run with and against everything from plasticbodied Tippmanns to the brand new Eclipse LV2 and literally everything in-between . Out of the box with my Etha3M ran over the chrono at 264 , 268 , 260 for its very first three trigger pulls . www . paintball . media
