There have been many battles at EMR ’ s Castles over the years . In fact , the original “ Castle Conquest ,” held at EMR Paintball in New Milford , Pennsylvania , ran 35 times between 1996 and 2015 . Thirty-five times paintball ’ s greatest Attack and Defend paintball game was held at the doorstep of Castle AAARRGH , the world-famous castle at Mike “ Blue ” Hanse ’ s ( and family ) EMR Paintball Park . Since then , with the exception of the Covid-19 year , EMR has run similar games yearly .
This year ’ s Castle Frontlines was played on the new , larger , more epic castle at EMR . That ’ s not the only thing that made this game so special — this was Mike “ Blue ”
Hanse ’ s retirement game and “ family ” reunion . Many of the original Blue ’ s Crew team were in attendance as was a good portion of industry notables that have been friends of Blue , his wife Sue and their son Chris “ Deuce ” Hanse over the years . And there were a few dozen honorary Blue ’ s Crew members here including our very own John Amodea , Josh Silverman , Tom Ghee , Ian “ Jacko ” Parsons , Rob “ FIREFLY ” Rivera , Anthony “ Tucci ” Rivera , Charles “ Happy ” Holton , Glen and Rob Cole , Greg “ Heavy G ” Beck , Carl Atkins Jr ., Harry Hibler , Steve Cusano , Andre “ Wolf ” Critchlow , his son Miles and many others . In all , Blue ’ s Crew fielded 86 players .
