And Sugar said that the best of these fish stories came from that final battle.
For Riley, he said he would be remiss to not give credit where it was due. The Red team fought a relentless, uphill battle all day and never gave up.
“ I would like to give a shoutout to Teddy for being my XO and making the game more fun and eventful,” he said.“ I may have lost again, but I had fun doing it. This is the one event that I have fun with when I’ m losing.”
At the end of the day, under an epic sunset, the winners were announced. Since Blue was able to secure the weapons cache and deny Red from even accessing the bunker, it was the Great Lakes Homeguard that rose to victory by a substantial margin.
Sugar awarded MVP to the elusive Jester of Valor, and named Outlaw Militia as his Most-Valuable Team. The thorn in the side, Most Formidable Opponent award went to Angelic Rage. For the Red team, Riley named Chris Morris as his MVP, the New Jersey Aces the MVT, and the MoFO went to Guerilla Company. Going forward, it is going to be important for the Red team to develop a narrative and a culture of its own for players to rally around if they are to have any chance of toppling the titan that the blue team has grown into. We are waiting anxiously to see if a worthy commander will rise to the challenge.
