WNXL Pro Women

As the 2025 WNXL season came to a close, the women’ s league had both a plethora of narratives worth noting and developing stories for us to look forward to in the season ahead. The league is showing significantly more stability at this point as well. With the departure of Destiny from the league, followed by the Chesapeake Cheetahs, there was a void to be filled in competition. This opened the door for talent to be more evenly distributed amongst the existing teams, and it made for some really great matches.
The WNXL was showcased at three major events: Tampa, Cincinnati, and‘ Cup, respectively. This heavily East Coastweighted schedule certainly gave an advantage to the Florida-based teams, and it showed. Out of the gate, in Tampa, a tone was set that there could be a shift in the league.
In the shadow of Raymond James Stadium, the Femmes Fatale won their first gold in the season-opening event in Tampa. They clawed their way into the finals by surviving a contentious semifinal match with the Heroines. Let’ s not make any jokes about women and laundry, but wow, did it fly in that match. In so doing, it forged a new rivalry between the two organizations that will likely outlive these two current rosters. And, man, did we enjoy the content.
The Heroines clearly didn’ t like the taste of the bronze medal, and they came back to run the table for the rest of the season, starting by defeating the Femmes in the finals at the Midwest Open in June.
