Today , this segment of the paintball scene is not only growing , but they are reaching back and drawing new players into the sport of paintball through outreaches , education , and meetups .
Deaf Paintball USA , a non-profit organization headed by John Eboli III , is spearheading this movement with members of DPUSA forming local teams for hearingimpaired players , hosting meetups , and attending networking events in their local communities to represent the organization and bring grassroots awareness to the sport at-large .
One such member is Andy Casile , who came out on fire in the 2023 season .
Casile manned a booth at the Deafopia Showcase to share his paintball experience with the wider community . Deafopia is a nationwide series of events intended to increase the “ Deaf EcoSystem ” by drawing hundreds of businesses together for trade shows and networking with thousands of people all over the world . There , Casile was able to interact with hundreds of people from the Tri-State area and share his experience as a hearing-impaired paintballer .
He also started a new team , Ascension , which competed in Eastern Paintball League ’ s series .
Last season , Ascension carried five players on their roster including Andy , Gabe Sanchez , John Eboli III and his two sons , Jansen , age 12 , and Jahan , age 10 . According to Casile , Jahan didn ’ t have much field time , but gained a ton of experience helping in the pits .
For Casile , the thrill is in the experience and sharing it with other members of the community . And Deaf Paintball USA is succeeding in that mission .
