World Cup , Kissimmee , Florida
The NXL World Cup is the paintball event of all paintball events . It ’ s the largest event in the world every year and this one drew north of 500 teams . The story coming into this event is that there would have been more than 700 teams entered but for that little thing we like to call Hurricane Ian . Flights were cancelled , rerouted and cancelled again , rerouted to cities hundreds of miles from Orlando and worse . Teams slept in airports , paid ridiculous last-minute fares and some even drove from as far away as California to play the Cup . It was a miracle the event even drew 500 teams .
All Thursday games were cancelled but the event played on … earlier and later than originally scheduled … but all games were played . In the end it was San Diego Dynasty doing it again , this time beating Tampa Bay Damage in the Pro finals 7-1 . The Dynasty train just keeps rolling .
In the WNXL The Heroines beat Destiny again in the finals . That ’ s three straight second place finishes for Destiny and back-to-back wins for The Heroines .
