And over the years Luxe has become one of the popular markers used by top teams the world over including teams like Houston Heat , and Tampa Bay Damage and many other teams that enjoy the trademarked “ The Luxe Experience .” Over the years I have met many players with Luxe markers . After watching a good friend that owned a Luxe and playing every weekend with case after case , the Luxe is now my go to spool valve on the market . I am not a spool valve guy .
Looking back over the years , I cannot believe that it has been over 10 years of what was called the “ next generations of the Shocker ” by players of the paintball forums in 08-10 . This is one of those markers I missed due to a small break of paintball as this marker was introduced . And once I got back into the game , I was buying older Shockers . Luckily , I just borrowed my friend ’ s Luxe and he used my old school markers .
The Revolution
The voice was probably the most notifiable feature when the 1.0 come out . Whereas companies like Dye used a heads-up LED display in 2010 . Luxe used the internal hose take off the 2009 Impulse . This spool valve marker might have some Shocker DNA but the clean smooth flowing line to a back cap that pops open like a Ferrari engine bay was not Shocker . However , the root bolt design was like SFT / NXT Shocker . The toolless bolt design was something tried on the Shocker by aftermarket companies but now it is part of the stock package . This set the stage for many more toolless spool valves .
These design changes really throw a winch into the current top high-end markers . Bob long being one of the first companies with the 2009 Victory . This even caused mid-range companies like Dangerous Power to follow the same standards . However , this left after market companies not able to produce parts as if it were an Autococker or older Timmy . It seemed like DLX wanted the players to be on the field with the best marker and not have to worry about any aftermarket company part not working right .
Still the marker did have its own problems . Bolt stick , eye problems and first drop off all became a known factor in this “ new Shocker .”
