In 1996, Ben Torricelli, who was running a game called‘ Florida ' s Last Blast” for several years with Paul Devane, merged his event into Wayne ' s Grand Finale. Ben would play an integral role in Wayne Dollack ' s games until the two split in 2003. More on Ben and Andy later.
Also in 1996, Wayne and Jackie started their own field, Wayne ' s World of Paintball. Wayne’ s contribution went well beyond his own field. One of the largest stamps he put on the game was the so-called World Record Game at Skirmish USA.“ The longest game we ' ve ever done was 48 hours,” Wayne said.“ We did that at Skirmish, USA, and it was based on the movie Blade Runner. We had 783 players at that game.”
Later that year, 1998, Wayne ' s Grand Finale drew 1,700 players. In the 13 years between the original Operation C. I. A. and the 1998 Grand Finale, Wayne and Jackie produced 72 scenario games, all around the country, and they would run games for another 27 incredible years. From the mid-to-late 90s and into the early 2000s, Wayne Dollack ' s 24-Hour Scenario Games were producing as many as 12 scenario events per year around the country at fields like Skirmish USA, Splat-1 Adventures, Hell Survivors, Fox Paintball, and Paintball Adventures( CO), just to name a few.
By the early 2000s, the annual Grand Finale event held at Wayne ' s World of Paintball would draw 1,000-plus players year after year. Their prize packages would be $ 40,000 or more, and the Friday night Costume Party became almost as big a draw as the game itself. And the storylines, props, and missions were legendary.
