Writers and producers challenge themselves and the players with scripts and plot lines that seek to give players a truly interactive experience. You find players, commanders, promoters, and game directors who will push the boundaries of technology to create more challenging missions and props. In other words, scenario games are more than seek-and-destroy gun battles. They are carefully crafted events that seek to be an immersive experience for players to enjoy.
Some scenario events will go to the level of a full-blown Military Simulation( Milsim) or Live-Action Role Playing( LARP), but these specifically themed events are niche
and
harder
to
find.
Within
the
scenario
world,
there
are
regions,
no
doubt. It seems
that most players
will stay within
these
regions,
restricted by the
distance
that
they
are
able
and
willing
to
travel for games
and events, and understandably so.
But each of those regions will have
in it budding writers and scenario
producers seeking to create new
games and push the boundaries of the
sport. Some will host events at local
fields, often for two or three seasons,
and then fall off the map. A few rare
ones have established themselves
as staples, and through relationships with players and field owners, they manage to come back year-over-year, including the rare few that have been around for twenty-plus years.
In this issue, we don’ t want to diminish the value and importance of those games. Names like Eric“ Big E” Holland in the northeast, Chad Lohse in the Midwest, and Ryan Sexton in the South have created epic events and series over the past two decades that are a crucial part of the scenario industry. Their contributions continue to challenge the sport to grow and mature, and they serve as a foundation that hold the industry together while

But in this issue will be looking into the history of the scenarios that gave those guys their start. We are going to cover the Big Games that have fed them, and the major scenarios that have defined the world of scenario ball that we know today, both domestically and internationally, with the hope that this information can be preserved before the guys who started this crazy sport, and all of the memories they have made, are lost to us.
