The scenario paintball season started off hot … literally , as Super Game South came out on fire January 24-26 at Outdoor Xtreme Orlando .
OX Orlando , or Battleground as the old heads still know it , has been completely overhauled in preparation for the event . Following the extensive flood damage that the field endured from storms last fall , Dezi Johnson and his team at OX worked tirelessly to repair washed out pathways , clear downed trees , and to build new structures around the field , including a pirate ship at the heart .
For those who don ’ t know , Super Game is more than just a scenario event . It is a conglomeration of all elements of the sport of paintball consolidated into a weekend-long experience .
There is a big game at its core , to be sure , but while the big game is in progress there are also numerous side events and mini-tournaments taking place simultaneously . This makes it an exceedingly difficult event to command , control , and win .
The blue team for SG South was commanded by Jason Berenato of South Florida Chaos who worked hard for several months leading into the event on recruitment along with his XOs Rob Maryland , Roy Burke , and Henry DaBoss .
Berenato faced off against General Nguyễn Tuna who lead the Red Team , and a Renegade element headed up by local Jeb Teuton of the Swamp Monkeys .
