In 1969 John and Rita Gregory founded JT Racing , a motocross company that first sold socks and soon expanded to gloves , safety wear , goggles and other accessories . Gregory has been quoted many times stating , “ We started the company in hopes of recouping some of my motocross expenses .”
By the mid-70s JT Racing was a force in the industry . Then Gregory turned his attention to paintball . And by the mid- 1980s JT had become the standard by which all paintball goggles would be judged . Through the 80s and into the mid-90s most of the top teams in the world wore JT ’ s goggles and apparel . And then the company sold and their logo and gear all but disappeared .
In 2018 GI Sportz revived the brand to some success over the next two years . Then Covid-19 happened . And in this short time post-Covid , the brand is big … maybe bigger than ever . In 2023 JT ’ s goggles , jerseys and pants dominated the field , both on the high-end tournament scene and even in scenario events . JT Goggles were worn by teams like San Diego Dynasty , PaintballFit , San Antonio X-Factor , the Ironmen , Farside , Destiny and many , many more .
