Intro By Cheryl Ellis : If Elon Musk ever figures out a way to upload human consciousness onto a hard drive for preservation , I would selfishly nominate this man as tribute to the cause . Blessed with the natural gifts of impeccable attention to detail , an incredible memory , a passion for history , and an access pass to any and every room in the sport of paintball for nearly 40 years , John Amodea possess a unique set of attributes that make him the ideal candidate : He is quite literally a walking encyclopedia of paintball history .
Ironically , the man who has served the paintball community as a journalist for nearly four decades , conducted countless interviews for print and visual media projects , created historical documentaries , owns and operates the only remaining monthly paintball magazine , and serves as the mastermind behind PaintballFilms . com has never been formally interviewed anywhere .
In the short amount of time I ’ ve spent working with him , I have learned that John is far more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it , and he would much rather be the person asking the questions than the one answering them . So , when presented with this rare opportunity to open up the human encyclopedia for a glimpse , I was both eager and honored to jump at the opportunity .
This is the conversation we had , and , hopefully , the first in a series for 2025 .
