Walden led Team Jack Frost , the blue team , facing off against Martin “ The Mechanic ” Sierra of Ghost Legion Tactics and Team Frosty . Both generals are regulars at New Jersey-area magfed meetups and expressed an eagerness to try their craft in a different arena .
“ More and more , I see magfed players at open class events and mixed in with walk-ons ,” Walden said . “ It was a great mix of hoppers and magfed .”
The mix of play styles at larger events like Winterbrawl allows for players and producers alike to experiment a bit , adding in and planning for snyper-type players .
When asked what makes larger events like this one different from traditional magfed-only events , Walken said , “ The sheer volume of paint in the air , the tempo of firefights . You have to really snap quick to catch a speedballer in between [ their ] shots .”
“ The dynamic was interesting ,” Holland said . “ We kept open communication with the commanders , giving them regular updates on scoring and field positions .” And the commanders worked collaboratively to progress the game for the best possible player experience . This free flow of information provided an opportunity to teach new , rising leaders in the game .
