This leaves behind a web , or a net of excess gel that can either go to waste or be reclaimed , melted down and reused for a second run . Oftentimes , these second-run webs will be used for mid- and lower-grade paint .
But a lower-grade paint doesn ’ t mean a lower quality .
According to Muller , rec ball players for example should be using lower grade paint because they are using a lowerend gun , and magfed players require a ball from a reclaimed web because it will provide them a ball that is less fragile , more consistently round , and has enough spring to tolerate the magfed bolt .

“ Many times , people open their case of paint too early and then once they load for a game , they leave it open and exposed to the elements which , as the day progresses , can drastically change the condition and performance of the paint - especially in hot and humid or cold and dry conditions ,” Opie said .
