Amidst all of the history , new stories were being created . One of the allfemale teams lost three players as a result of travel complications from Florida , but the community stepped up and a new , young star was born . Kaylynn Chavis , the 13 year-old daughter of Band member Kenny Chavis , courageously stepped up to fill the void , and what an experience she had . Watching Kaylynn operate all weekend , president of Ally Remembered Foundation , Andy Starrett felt moved to do something exceptional .
The Ally Remembered Foundation had four custom Emeks built by Inception Designs several years ago . Three of them went to key players in the organization or to auction . But Andy held on to the last one for a special person who would honor the memory of his daughter Ally who was murdered in 2017 , and for whom the foundation is named . In a
Facebook post following the event , Starrett stated that he was inspired by Kaylynn and that he felt compelled to give her the last remaining gun - Ally ’ s gun .
In addition to receiving Ally ’ s Emek , Kaylynn became a part of history . This event saw not one , but two all-female teams fielded for the first time at a 10- man woodsball event . Unfortunately , the Valkyries and Fox FEISTY did not get to play against one another as a result of randomized prelim seeding .
Contributing to the old-school feel of the event , two teams who historically competed in the WCPL were chosen to officiate this year . The Toxic Teddy ’ s were given the responsibility , and to bolster their ranks , they partnered with Missouri Magic - a team that was ejected from this same event last season in a highly disputed decision .
