Where Drama Happens
Not discounting everything that played out on the Pro field or in the higher divisions , it could be argued the lower divisions brought the heavy narrative to the World Cup this year . With a father-son duo who took home a Cup , and a cheering section that would make headlines , the fierce competition and the spectacle in divisional ball was most certainly second-to-none this year .
Division 2
The 2023 season in Division 2 has been a pretty consistent slugging fest . Aside from the AG Knights literally coming out of nowhere to take the gold jewelry at the MidAtlantic Open in June , and the Noobies taking home hardware from Chicago with a third place spot , the story has been four teams who stood head and shoulders above the rest : New York Wrecking Crew from New Jersey , Dynamic out of Orlando , the notorious Shut Up We ’ re Trying from Paintball Fit , and Tiki ’ s Totem out of Tampa .
The trend continued at Cup . The weekend in D2 started with Shut Up We ’ re Trying dropping one to Dynamic , gutting out a nail-biter 5-4 win against Tiki ’ s Totem , and then bowling over New York Wrecking Crew 5-0 to take the top seed in the quarters .
The Ochos were intense . Shenanigans would eek a 4-3 win over MurdaLand , and Brave slipped by Armada by the same margin . gg _ Factory would hold on 3-2 over Ghost Life . And the DeaD Rabbits sent Armada packing with a 7-3 smack down .
