The Semipro Xball Division
There ’ s no drama or season series title race in the Semipro division . PaintballFIT . com ’ s four straight event wins this season heading into the World Cup locked up their title months ago …. Or so you may have thought . Somehow , someway Blast Camp is still very much alive as the games begin at the ‘ Cup . How , you ask ? Blast Camp has also had a nice streak this season . They ’ ve placed second behind PaintballFIT . com in all four pre- ‘ Cup events . One slip up from PaintballFIT . com and another strong showing from Blast Camp and they could easily slide into the top of the series rankings leaderboard .
The Semipro Games
Like the Pro division , the Semipro Xball saw the top four teams square off in a tournament within a tournament setting — as they were all in the same division bracket . None of the top four teams swept the bracket with PaintballFit . com , Noobies and Blast Camp each winning two of the three games . Nasty lost all three of their games . In the end it was more of a dress-rehearsal practice run as all four teams would get a pass to the quarterfinals anyway . Things didn ’ t fare any better for Nasty in the quarters as they were blanked by France ’ s Scalp 5-0 . PaintballFIT . com speed-bumped Vegas Golden Misfits 7-2 ; Blast Camp did the same to KC Missouri All Stars 7-3 ; and Nasty won a close 4-3 game versus Leverage .
In the semifinals Blast Camp defeated Scalp 4-2 , and for the fifth time this season were headed to the Semipro finals . Ditto PaintballFIT . com as they beat Nasty 5-1 . Would this be the event that Blast Camp finally breaks through and beats PaintballFIT . com In the finals ? Or would PaintballFit . com do what no team has ever done , sweeping an entire season in the Semipro division ?
Sometimes a team just matches up well against another team . You see it all the time in other sports . And for PaintballFIT . com , who does on occasion lose a game , never loses to Blast Camp . And once again in this Semipro final round matchup , it was ALL PaintballFIT . com , 6-1 . Congrats to PaintballFit . com for their literal perfect season . In the battle for third place Scalp beat Nasty 5-4 .
