Amateur Ten-Vs-Ten Division – Planet Eclipse Airball Field

Remember ten-man ball in the late 90s and early 2000s ? This was a throwback to those days . An incredible 44 teams entered the Ten-Vs-Ten event at the World Cup . Although this was an amateur division there were a ton of former pro players and many names you would probably know . Extreme Rage alone had Tami Adamson , Paul Everett , Dave “ Weez ” Cook , Chris Hudson , Julian Maliszewski , Mike Paxson , Shane Pestana , Aaron Rios and Aaron Tholey on its roster … to name a few . Maple Leaf Chiefs had Matt Engles and Michael Mohr — and no , Dynasty Champions Club had no members of Dynasty in its roster . Interesting name though .

The Games

From the jump it was easy to separate the top of the division from the middle and bottom . CRB and Philippines ran the preliminary round table , each winning all eight of their games . Extreme Rage won seven of their eight . Harambes Revenge , Rejects , Seattle Crusaders , Miami Rage , Enemy , Maple Leaf Chiefs , Juggernauts and Hydra Mentality each won six of their first eight games .
Fast-forwarding to quarterfinals Maple Leaf Chiefs beat the previously undefeated Philippines , Miami Rage did the same to the also unbeaten CRBN , Extreme Rage took care of Seattle Crusaders and the Rejects beat Leftovers .
In the semifinals it was two Florida teams with many historic ties between them facing off . Extreme Rage had a fairly easy time of it against Miami Rage to secure its final-round spot . Rejects beat Maple Leaf Chiefs in their effort to win this thing .
In what can only be deemed a shock , the Rejects ended Extreme Rage ’ s bid to win the Amateur Division of the World Cup , taking it to the more experienced and savvy Rage . Considering Rage ’ s star power , this was quite the win for the Rejects .
