The winner or next highest seed ( if the winner isn ’ t able to attend ) from the Latin American Championship would play in the Pro division at the ‘ Cup as well as the next two highest seeds from Europe . U . S . fans of the Pro game would get a chance to see Paris Camp Carnage ( France ), Lucky 15s Staffordshire ( England ) and Tsunami ( Columbia ) live on GoSports or in-person at the ‘ Cup .
The Champions Cup consisted of four teams playing a Round Robin format , each playing three games . Dynasty rolled through the division beating Houston Heat 5-4 , Toulouse TonTons 5-3 and Edmonton Impact 5-1 . Quite a show from Dynasty .
Back to the main Pro event …
The Pro Xball preliminary rounds consisted of 20 teams , not including the four playing the Champions Cup — and of those 20 teams , 10 would advance to the next round , joining the four Champions Cup teams .
Interestingly , the top seed in each of the five Pro divisions would win all four of their preliminary round games . Tampa Bay Damage , San Antonio X-Factor , ML Kings , Baltimore Revo and Seattle Thunder proved why they were the number one seeds coming into the ‘ Cup … minus Dynasty , Impact and Heat of course . Also advancing were NY Xtreme , Red Legion , Seattle Uprising , Sacramento DMG , Tampa Bay Damage and San Diego Aftermath .
In round two New York Xtreme knocked off Red Legion 7-4 , which was a surprise to many . The Red Legion was definitely playing short-handed , but still had Berdnikov , Prihidni and Smotrov , three of the best players in the game . Seattle Uprising knocked off Sacramento DMG 3-1 to round out round two .
