“ The people in this community need to show compassion and broadly accept that we need an image change to grow ,” Montressor said . “ There is a culture change that has to happen in this sport , and these kids are central to that happening .”
Montressor expects that the Youth League will expand this coming year with two , age based divisions and that the tournament will remain at NXL World Cup in years to come .
“ It should stay at World Cup so the kids can come and , not only have the experience , but have the national springboard ,” she said .
Staying with the theme , Gong agreed that it is the kids who should be celebrated . “ This only happened because the kids worked hard to perfect their craft ,” Gong said .
