Femmes Fatale and Destiny ’ s 8 ( Destiny had 10 players there , but we sat 2 to make accommodations for all 15 Femmes at their request so that they would have the opportunity to play together ).
The goal was to encourage the paintball community to embrace the idea of having a women ’ s pro division and to feature some of the best women in paintball in the world or competition paintball . Although there were no European women paintball athletes at this event , this is due in part to the challenges of traveling nowadays within this Covid environment . Players like Shelly Farmer have already expressed their acceptance of playing on Femmes Fatale , for example , and there are talks of possibly seeing female paintballers from Russia .
Now the WNXL franchising system is still in the foundational stage of determining what format will be used , what locations will be chosen , and what the prize distribution will look like . As of right now , the WNXL will conduct a minimum of three events in the 2022 season , which includes another World Cup appearance . The first event will take place most likely at the end of April or in June .
The Heroines team name may be newly formed , but it ’ s headed by Anthony Vitale and Lori Miller of BKI ( Paintball Combine ) and Boston Paintball . Their roster consists mostly of paintball players from this year ’ s 2020 and 2021 USA Women ’ s team rosters , which include Sobbe Glass , Rozy McCurley , Krista Titus , Alicia Valdivia , to name a few .
