Now in its 31st year , the World Cup is the longest running national-level paintball tournament in the game ’ s history . Although promoters and ownership of the event have changed hands several times and the location has moved more than a half-dozen times , the event remains the premiere paintball tournament and trade show year after year after year .
As it has the past four seasons , this year ’ s World Cup Major event is hosted and run by the National Xball League ( NXL ) and its President , Tom Cole . Cole , the former captain and owner of professional paintball team Bad Company of Maryland , former
President of the National Professional Paintball League ( NPPL ), owner of the Ultimate Woodsball League and Ultimate Referee of countless events , knows a thing or two about tournament paintball . And he ’ s presided over more professional paintball events than anyone in paintball history .
The World Cup was originally founded by Jerry Braun and held at his field , Survival New York in Newberg , New York . Braun moved the World Cup to Kissimmee , Florida in 1994 and it has remained within 40 miles of Kissimmee ever since . This year ’ s event , as it has been for four
