Resort is the perfect spot for an event of this magnitude . The site is large enough to hold 600 or more teams , as proven last year and it ’ s close to Old Town Kissimmee , hotels , rental houses , restaurants and every amenity a paintball player or team could want .
COVID-19 certainly played a role in this year ’ s event in terms of the team count . That said , 383 teams spread across more than a dozen divisions is still one of the largest events in paintball history . The vibe at the location was upbeat and to be frank , the event felt more like a 2019 event than a 2020 event , and that ’ s a good thing . The vendor village was missing the huge GI Sportz , Valken and DYE presence but the number of smaller vendors , along with HK , Virtue Paintball ’ s large setup provided plenty of atmosphere . The NXL ( National Xball League ) did a fabulous job pulling this off considering we ’ re in the midst of a pandemic .

The Pro Games

As always , the Pro Xball division consisted of 20 of the best paintball teams in the world , with Moscow Red Legion , Edmonton Impact and Houston Heat probably coming in as the favorites to win for most fans of the game . Vegas winners , the Los Angeles Ironmen , San Diego Dynasty and San Antonio X-Factor would also be included in that group for many .
Right from the jump there were some surprises in the pro ranks . Los Angeles Infamous ’ 8-2 drubbing of Edmonton Impact was a shock — not that Infamous won , but how they won . The Wild Dogs Latino American 6-4 win over ML Kings was another surprise game in the first games of the preliminary rounds . ac : Diesel is a strong mid-tier pro team on the rise and their 7-1 win over the Los Angeles Ironmen was a margin of victory most wouldn ’ t have predicted .
