Intro

Intro from the Editor, John Amodea: Professional Paintball in Europe dates back to the late 1980s with events like the Mayhem Masters and the National Survival Game Series and teams like Bart Studs Squad, UK Predators, Mayhem Tigers, NAM
Wrecking Crew, Banzai Bandits, Turks and so many other teams pushing the ball forward into the early
2000s where the Millennium Series took over as the premiere European paintball league. And many of those early 2000s teams remain, at least in name. In the 2000s teams like TonTons, Ugly Ducklings, Paris Camp Carnage, Joy Division, Russian Legion and others led the top of the Pro ranks in Europe. Most of those teams are still playing today in the NXL’ s EU events.
Tournament paintball’ s history is rich in Europe, and that history is growing. The wide talent gap between American teams and European teams from the 80s has narrowed significantly. And although the post-COVID tournament scene in Europe is noticeably smaller than pre-COVID days, the upper echelon teams continue to thrive.
