This set up a final round bracket of Chicago Aftershock, Image and the All Americans— all teams that have played the original mounds fields back in the mid-90s. Pretty cool. All three teams played more aggressively than any team did in the semifinals. In the end it was Chicago Aftershock, still and always one of the best woodsball tournament teams in history, with the first-place win.‘ Shock scored 112 points in their two games, which was just enough to stave off Image( 103 points) and the All Americans( 102) points for the win.
The Amateur Ten V Ten Games
Of the 28 Amateur Ten V Ten teams, Sniper Squad managed a combined score in eight games of 552 points— enough to land them the top seed going into Sunday.
Dark Carnival secured the second seed with 540 points, with Fraction filling the top three out with 528 points.
In the semifinals Sniper Squad continued their impressive play with 97 and 93-point wins over AAF and New Jersey Jesters. Dark Carnival also maxed their two games versus Canada’ s Thrashers and FMI. Oiled Up did just enough to take their bracket over Brawlgang and Fraction.
Sniper Squad finally met their match in the finals in a loss to Dark Carnival., who also won on points versus Oiled Up. Dark Carnival’ s final points total of 116 was enough to take first place. Sniper Squad claimed second place with 11 points and Oiled Up took third with 15 points.
