Coming into the event , Scalp was playing hot . The Parisian squad played only one event together in the 2022 season , and they placed a respectable 9th of 13 teams . This season , they have come into the ENXL with a vengeance . They took first place in the Netherlands , and won all of their matches at this event with the exception of one upset 2-2 tie to the unranked Belgian squad Outbreak in the prelims .
ALA Warsaw , Lucky 15s , and the Indians joined Scalp as the clear dominant squads , each coming out of the prelims undefeated as well .
In the quarters , Lucky 15s grabbed a win over the Portuguese S . L . Benfica , the Indians blew over Pimp Squad Cologne in a 5-1 win , and Scalp fought tooth and nail against their German rivals Ballistics Goettingen to squeak by into the Semis . The Ugly Ducklings of Denmark surprised everyone by issuing a 4-1 lashing to heavy favorites ALA Warsaw and edging their way into the Semis for the first time since 2019 .
In the Semis , Scalp fought another hard battle against Lucky 15s , again slipping through by a tight margin at just 2-1 , while the Indians took an easy lap against the Ugly Ducklings .
This brought the two French squads headto-head . Scalp brought it all together for the finals , dropping their rivals 4-0 .
Keeping with that French high vibe , the National Xball League ’ s next event will be held in Dreax , France at the end of this month from 31 August through 3 September .
