We had the tiger by the tail and we could not let go . A few times the Germans put us back on our heels , but we held . Finally , at 1:25 the final flag worth 5 point was placed at Gold Beach . The mad dash for the flag went back and forth . Finally , a lone Allied player , with a ton of cover fire , was able to stick the flag in the poll and the refs saw he was clean . The clock ran out and the Allies ended up winning 49-46 .
point here or there and it could have been a different outcome . I always look forward to coming out to ION to meet friends and family on both sides of the field .
I also want to thank the owners , staff , workers and even the guy named John who cleans out the port-a-potties , that put in the hard work so we can come out and have fun at ION . Can ’ t wait until next year .
