The paintball was fantastic. The heat slowed
things down a bit and Covid had created a
demand for refs but everyone was having such
a great time that these issues were largely over
looked. The Expendables stepped up in many
cases to help with the reffing, and they even
held a small 3 man speedball tournament. I
need to give credit to David Weez Cook here
as he immediately headed to the sidelines of
the tournament offering pro paintball tips to
anyone interested in learning to be better.
Having a THREE TIME PROFESSIONAL WOLRD
CHAMPION taking the time to just hang out
and teach because he loves the game and
wants to share his knowledge is not something
that happens every day in paintball. Which
brings me to my personal favourite part
of the whole event. All weekend, I had the
absolute best paintball guns in my hands. I had
brand new Luxe Ace’s with Spire 4s, the new
Shocker CVOs with trigger mods, the Field One
Force, new MacDev guns and others. All that
greatness and my favourite moment of this
charity event happened with 50cal Tippman
pump marker in my hands. You see there
were a bunch of young kids at the event who
were too little to play but old enough to really
want to. The Modern Day Pirates noticed and
decided to change that. Weez who is part of
The Order of MDP came and grabbed me by
the shirt and said come on, we need to go play
50cal with these kids. So, I pulled on my OG
Ironmen practice jersey and hit the field along
side one of the most well known Ironmen
to ever say “SKW”. If you know, you know. I
cannot remember the last time I had this much
fun in paintball. There was no intensity, and no
competitiveness. It was just absolute joy in its
purest form. I cannot thank you enough for
that moment Weez. It will forever be one of
my greatest moments in paintball and it was
just a kid’s game with Tippman 50 cal pumps.
