and Pennsylvania, to compete for cash, prizes
and the first-ever Championship Belt. Long
time pro player, ref and paintball legend Chris
Cole was the head ref for the event. Julian
Maliszewski from Team Image and son of
another paintball legend Tommy Maliszewski,
and a handful of other skilled refs ran the
games smoothly and on-time all day long.
For those that may be new to paintball or live
somewhere were there is no internet, Will
“Wilrocs” Arroyo has been around the game
of tournament paintball for decades, playing
on teams like the East Coast Eliminators in
the 90s and Ground Zero in the 2000. Shortly
after he retired from playing on the pro circuit
Will became the voice of tournament paintball
doing live play by play at literally every major
paintball event for years.
The King of the Mounds seven-man “mounds
field” tournament featured eight up-andcoming
classic style paintball teams. The All
Americans II, Brotherhood, NY Villains, Omenz,
Ground Zero Red, Ron Petrucci’s X-Men,
Wolfpack and Ground Zero Silver. You probably
know the names Ground Zero, X-Men and the
all Americans, all iconic names from the past.
The names are the same but the rosters are
very different, mostly filled with the younger
generation of players getting a taste of classic
style paintball for the first time, representing
