With only one team winning their four first-round games , it was no surprise that many teams won three of their four . NXS , Cleveland Chaos , LA Wildcards , EOTS 1st Degree , Tropic Thunder , Outlaw AP D3 and Raze all won three of four prelim games in Atlantic City .
Breezing into the semifinals were Tropic Thunder , Cleveland Chaos , Noobies and Raze . Tropic Thunder hung on for a close 3-2 win versus Cleveland Chaos and Noobies speed-bumped Raze 4-0 . The final game was the end of the line for the Noobies as they just fell short to Tropic Thunder 4-3 . After an 8th place finish in Las Vegas and a 23rd place finish in Texas , Tropic Thunder proved that it ’ s not always how you start , it ’ s how you finish a season .
Division Four Xball and its 34-team bracket was again , one of the most difficult to predict . Through these three 2024 events more than 70 teams have competed at this level . Coming into this event Woodkings were ranked first but skipped this event . EAVL missed Vegas , won Texas and didn ’ t enter Atlantic City . Such is life for teams that are mostly unsponsored .
Avid Factory laced 7th in Vegas and 9th in Texas and yet found themselves 4-0 in the preliminary rounds and undefeated through Sunday and into the finals against The Lost Boys , who previously finished 15th in Vegas and 25th in Texas . In the end Avid Factory went wire to wire without a loss , beating The Lost Boys 302 in the finals . FACK defeated the Quebec Nordiques D4 to take 3rd place .
Division Five Xball had just ten teams competing in Atlantic City and 25 total on the season at the midway point . Ballers Red beat Puerto Rico ’ s TPP Factory team in the finals 3-2 to take first place .
