The day could not have been more perfect for paintball on July 7 and 8 at CPPS Paintball Center in Staffordshire , UK . A balmy 68-degrees ( 20 Celsius for the locals ), not a cloud a sky , and those gorgeous grass fields that the legendary center is known for made for a great setting for the annual UK Invitational . And the competition stood up to match the set and the setting .
For the men , twenty Pro teams , and Semipro alike , were invited to compete , representing 12 nations each from around Europe , Asia , and the Americas . And three Pro women ’ s teams duked it out to represent the WNXL . And as the sun broke over the horizon on Saturday , the competition started hot and didn ’ t stop until near sundown on Sunday evening .
Pro Division
In the prelims , there were few surprises . The top three seeds - France ’ s SCALP , UK ’ s Lucky 15 ’ s who had the home-field advantage , and Belgium ’ s Breakout Spa respectively - all went undefeated . They made it look easy to slide into the quarterfinals relatively unscathed .
The bracket that saw the most intensity was led by the Toulouse Ton Tons came in as the top of the fourth bracket as the number four seed . The remainder of the bracket was filled out by heavy hitters Austin FSY and Paris Camp Carnage , and the burgeoning squads Bad Boys OSS of the Netherlands and Droogs Frankfurt .
