It ’ s good to be back at Paintball . Media ! To paraphrase a legendary Van Halen song , I heard you missed me , I ’ m back ! One of my favorite things about writing here at Paintball . Media is that we love to bring you hot , breaking paintball news ! Remember Paintball News ? I used to work there too , but that was back in the nineties – wait what was I talking about again ? Oh yeah – hot , breaking paintball news ! So , here ’ s a news flash for you – Planet Eclipse just made an amazing tournament paintball gun . I know , I know , I ’ m as surprised as you are . Let ’ s try to keep it together and get through this Geo R5 review and then maybe we ’ ll go dig into some other massive news headlines , like “ Hey , those Dynasty guys are pretty good , huh ?”
I ’ ve spent a healthy portion of my career writing about Eclipse paintball guns , from Eclipse-upgraded guns other companies made to their first Ego , then the Geo , the ETek , the GMek , EMek , the LV ’ s , the CS and the M-whatevers and this has become a run-on and I need to rest my fingers . All those Eclipse paintball guns I ’ ve shot and reviewed had some pretty great things in common , like how well they went bang every time , and how paintball players who pick up Eclipse guns tend to go win with them . So when a box containing the new Eclipse Geo R5 showed up at the house , I wasn ’ t exactly worried about whether or not this thing was going to send paintballs over there and make the people at the other end of the field wish they ’ d stuck with pickleball – rather I think we ’ d all like to know what the latest Geo offers as far as new technology , its list of included features and how it all comes together to deliver performance worthy of its high-end price tag and the Eclipse name it wears . www . paintball . media
