The Asia Girls Paintball International
Championship( AGPIC) stands as the premier all-female paintball tournament in Asia. Launched in 2017 by Jane Koh and the Singapore Paintball Series team with a clear mission- to grow women’ s participation in the sport- AGPIC gave female players across the region a dedicated, competitive stage of their own. At its peak, 7 full female teams competed under Singapore’ s skies. The event ran in 2017, 2018, and 2019 before COVID-19 forced a pause. It returned for one final edition in 2023 with six teams. Then came an ending nobody wanted: Red Dynasty Paintball Park, the competition ground that had hosted every AGPIC, lost its speedball site to urban redevelopment. The field that built AGPIC no longer exists. Red Dynasty continues today in Yishun, Singapore but only for recreational play. AGPIC( and Singapore Paintball Series), for now, remains on pause. Which is precisely why Fidah’ s closing wish carries such weight: she wants the next generation of women in Asian paintball to know that AGPIC existed and to carry its spirit forward.
What Is HYROX and Why Did Paintballers Sign Up? For the uninitiated: HYROX is a global
fitness racing format built around 8 x 1km of running alternated with 8 functional workout stations- ski erg, sled push, sled pull, burpees broad jump, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. In a relay, the four stations and corresponding run legs are split across four athletes. The 2026 Singapore edition drew 14,500 athletes across the full race weekend at the iconic National Stadium.
Each of us trained for her assigned stations. KC took on sled pull and farmers carry, working with a HYROX pro athlete coach for two months of focused preparation. Monika handled ski erg and wall balls, bringing in a professional trainer to work on form and rhythm alongside her regular gym program. Fidah was assigned sled push and RowErg- she started Body Fit Training( BFT) six days a week in February 2026 with bonus sled push sessions every Saturday. With the Women’ s Relay team, I took care of the other 2 stations i. e. burpees broad jump and sandbag lunges. At the same event, I tackled another full race in Mixed Doubles alongside a friend.
