The Gulf Coast Gorillas were 5 and 1 going into the finals, including an absolute lashing they dished out to Filthy in the semifinals. Perhaps the Florida heat beat the New Jersey kids out of Quickshot Paintball, as Filthy had a respectable weekend, but they floundered in their 4-0 loss to the hometown hotshots, and had to be satisfied with third place.
The Gorillas then squared up against the Gunnerz, but couldn’ t beat their level of hydration and fell 4-2 for a secondplace medal.
Some of the veterans of the game were joined by the Brazilians Papaleto to kit up and play a 7v7 tourney, bringing out legendary squads like Aftershock, and Team Smoke. Showing no slow in their roll, and no shame in their game, Rocky Cagnoni and company on Image took home the gold there.
Meanwhile, the youth division turned out four squads for the Youth 5v5 with the Shenanikids hanging around for a third place podium finish, Quickshot’ s Filthy Kids coming second, and Hydra Kids out of Paintball Fit taking home gold.
Rounding out the rest, Magic City Steel won the D4 5v5. The locals Ragtag D5 won the Division 5 5v5, and Tiki’ s Panda Express Elite won the 3-Man. Smoke would win the machine gun paradise 10-man. And Protocol XX would win the Women’ s 5v5.
See you in Atlantic City!
