As they took the field, the sides were evenly balanced from all reports. The competition began off-field the night before the game with magfed and pump games, a sniper challenge to further satisfy the magfed, Gellyball on hyperball field, and a heated game of dodgeball on the Speedball field. This then culminated in an American Gladiator challenge sponsored by Nova including the notorious Gauntlet run.
Following these micro-tournaments, the Friday night mission ensued as both teams launched search teams to scour the field for glow sticks. With a score of 119 to 116 the Red team won the night event and was given the right to choose their starting point for the game.
Bravo did something unconventional and chose the South insertion to start the game on Saturday. Ohana games switch insertions from Saturday to Sunday, so Bravo’ s theory was that taking the nearer insert for Sunday would make it easier to field his team for the second day of play, and his gamble worked.
The Blue team would finish Saturday with a 280- 210 lead, having dominated in mission execution. But the tide turned on Sunday because they were late to the field. www. paintball. media
