battle in particular, he was there to support his squad in any way possible. He made it his mission to keep them hydrated. Repeatedly, he ran between the field and the net line, pulled out ice cold waters from a cooler, and then ran into the sea of paint to distribute water bottles to his teammates.
As the event wound up, Jax was called to the stage and presented the Young Gun Award. Brought to the stage, he was handed a certificate, an Empire mask, some swag, and a brand new Tippmann TCM, the same as the one he was pining over earlier in the weekend.
“ It was cool to see him recognized over 20 or so of his teammates on the Swamp
Monkeys,“ said his mother, Amber Womack, who spoke a bit about how the sport of paintball has been a healing space for her son, and a place where he is truly coming into his own.“ Jax was just out there being Jax.”
And although the Tippmann had Jax all jacked up, the reward for her was the smile on his face.
“ I feel like I have my son back for the first time in five years,” she said.
According to Womack, it is this community that Dezi and Jenni have fostered that won the day.
