Teams pitched in as well . Local team Angelic Rage hosted a bake sale throughout the event with all proceeds going to OAR . S . B . Sticker Co . was there as a vendor . And the event was run under the banner of the TM40 Legacy Foundation with the full support of Eric “ Big E ” Holland and the Marauders organization .
Members of the community were quick to jump in and act as support personnel and staff as well .
“ Big E was the game master for off-field challenges ,” McGonigle said . He also sold custom event t-shirts which were donated to commemorate the event .
“ Barney was my brick master for the bricks and tower challenge ,” she added . “[ and shout out to ] Frosty ( Steve Solo ) for helping be my puppet master and coordinator , and teams Nomads and Stud Muffins for helping ref the entire event .”
The game on field was primarily a big game / rec ball format with slap sticks and hourly flags . But , to tie the onfield battle to the off-field activities , the landscape was covered in the
aforementioned Mega Bloks which were then used to build an enormous tower . The team with the largest tower at the end of the game received points contributing to their end tally .
Meanwhile , off field , other games were afoot . Attendees assembled the block towers and puzzles , and played oversized board games like Sorry and Twister for points in the larger game .
At the end , Noah ’ s squad came out on top , and the boy ’ s squad eeked out a win over the young ladies , but no doubt , it was a great event enjoyed by everyone involved .
All funds raised went to support autism research .
Perhaps the real puzzle that was solved for the kids was the production of the event itself . By sharing in the innerworkings of the event from its inception to its realization , Cohen and Thompson witnessed just how many pieces it takes to make events a reality in this crazy game of ours , and hopefully they will pay it forward . www . paintball . media
