On April 14 at Quickshot Paintball in Shamong , NJ the Tri-State paintball community came together to host a charitable event unlike any that we have seen before . Produced by Michelle McGonigle , better know simply as “ Trouble ”, the event was originally conceptualized with young guns at its center .
McGonigle organized the event to honor her son Maddox , a lover of paintball himself , who happens to be on the autism spectrum . So , she decided to create an outreach charity event to benefit OAR , the Organization
for Autism Research , and The Battle for the Missing Piece was born .
What made this event different was two fold : first , it was to be commanded by young gun generals with a focus on teaching young players how to recruit for and command a scenario event . And , second , it was written with a focus on off-field missions that youngsters who are not yet mature enough to play paintball , people with autism or sensory issues , or family members who may not be into shooty ball but want to participate in the game .
