In the semifinals the Latin Saints truck kept on rolling as they beat Columbus LVL fairly easily 7-5 . And San Diego Aftermath , who ’ ve been battling all week long put up one heck of a fight against Dynasty , coming up just short 4-3 . Dynasty is just red-hot right now and looking impossible to beat .
The finals were a rematch of the preliminary round game with San Diego Dynasty facing off against the Latin Saints . As well as the Latin Saints played all weekend , they beat everyone the schedule put in front of them , except for the boys in blue , Dynasty . And it was no different in the finals , with Dynasty taking the game and the tournament , 5-2 . Dynasty has now won four of the past six NXL events — a stunning turn of events when you consider the past few seasons have seen podiums full of Impact , Heat , Red Legion and X-Factor players . No other team has had a 50-plus win career , followed by “ average ” play , then completely dominant again .
WNXL ( Women ’ s National Xball League )
If you didn ’ t get your daily fill of paintball news as the Latin Saints pillaged the pro ranks of the NXL this off-season , maybe the WNXL hype filled that void . Clearly the second most talked about thing in tournament paintball this off-season was the WNXL , the new all-female Pro League . And why not ? Some of the biggest female names in competitive paintball are part of this new league — names like Bea Youngs Paxson , Tami Adamson , Rozy McCurley , Linh Truong and many others . And for all of the haters out there asking why this is called a Pro league without any qualifications … this is exactly how the men did it as well . Before 1992 there was no Professional designation in paintball . In 1992 a bunch of team captains sat in a room in Chicago and said , “ We ’ ll turn pro .” Bam , a new pro league formed .
