The hype machine was dialed up to “ 11 ” coming into the first Major event of the NXL season . In the eight or so weeks leading up to the Sunshine State Major , Diego Santos , owner of the league ’ s newest Professional paintball team , the Latin Saints , literally plucked away some of the best pro talent in the league . Alex Goldman , Corey Hall , Kyle Spicka , Alex Rodriguez , Justin Rabackoff … all gone from their former teams , lured away with a rumored one-million-dollar combined payday . The goal ? Become a powerhouse team , win and take down a red-hot Dynasty , who also bolstered its roster for this season , adding arguably a top five playmaker in the game today in Archie Montemayor .
We ’ ve seen this approach before . XSV was an all-star team put together in 2005 with one single goal — take down Dynasty . In their first year XSV did win a PSP event , an NPPL event and four Millennium Series events . And Dynasty , you ask ? They won the four PSP events that XSV didn ’ t . XSV did go on to win ten major events .
