the round was complete. Russia, the US,
France and Norway would go undefeated
through the first round, easily qualifying
for the quarterfinals. Spain, Belgium,
Poland and Germany would also quality.
In the quarterfinals Russia and Norway
knocked off their opponents, Spain and
Poland easily while the US beat Germany
and France beat Belgium, each by a single
point.
In the semifinals the US Men dominated
the men of Norway with an easy 4-0
victory while Russia got little resistance
from France in their 4-1 win. This set up a
powerhouse matchup of the United States
versus Russia in the finals with everything
on the line. Coming into this game the
US Men’s team has never lost in UFPB
play but this Russian team is stacked with
talent. And in the end this Russian talent
outplayed the US team taking a 3-2 hard
fought match.

Europe’s opening event of the season
in Barcelona won two of their four first
round games—but it was not enough to
quality for Sunday play. Chantilly winners,
Amsterdam Heat were the only team in
the Semipros to win all four preliminary
round games. They would go on to win out
beating Russian Roulette in the semifinals
and Ranger Warsaw in the finals. The
back to back wins for Amsterdam Heat
was enough to catapult them to the top
spot in the Semipro season standings.
Ranger Warsaw sits just behind Heat in
the number two spot.
In Division Two Xball Virst Factory Team
opened the season with a first place win
in Barcelona, finished fifth in Chantilly and
played well in Prague, falling just shor of
the semifinals and finishing in fifth place.
