to go with a castaway theme to Hawaiian
Legend II. Two crashed, stranded cargo ship
crews, one local and one from the mainland,
battle over local resources and a downed UPS
cargo plane that scattered goodies amongst
the field. The most important resource for
any stranded person is of course clean,
potable water, and since it is life or death, it
is fitting that the center flag attraction would
be a water resource and worth points every
hour! Control the water and you get the
points, get the points and you have a better
chance at winning the game. You can shoot
as many people you want throughout the day
but if you are not gaining points then you will
not win the game. Points were also scored
by collecting certain UPS packages, and they
were actually collecting real UPS packages
to attain goods (more points). Having been
stranded on an island also means that you
have to be able to build items to survive, and
unless either team recruited John Rambo or
the Professor from Gilligan’s Island, then they
had to locate pieces to build a grenade and
assemble it themselves. These were all the

opportunities that Red or Blue team had to
control the game. What Blue team lacked in
players was well covered by the experience
of their command staff They were able to
grab the lead on day one and never let go.
Red team had a mountain to climb going
into day two but they possessed the skills
and the drive to rise to the occasion.
Paintballers have always been a special
breed. Whether you enjoy competition,
the thrill of the hunt or just the brotherhood
that paintball excites, it does not matter, the
only thing that matters is that each and every
baller out there is made from special stock.
Many times ballers go through their career
not realizing what brings them together or
how the sport itself can truly affect a person’s
life. There was not a person at Hawaiian
Legend that, at the end, did not recognize
the Silent Slippah Assassins. Fred Aki III is a
local paintballer in Molokai that also reaches
out to his community, he mentors youths
that may or may not have had the best
background.
