Making it out to Hawaii for most mainland
ballers is a venture in itself, it is around
3,000 - 4,000 mile trip depending on
where they originate, meaning the ones
that make the trip are in it to win it. When
you mix that breed of paintballer in with
the loyal local players and the jungle like
atmosphere, the competitiveness is sure
to be top shelf. To wrangle these warriors
it takes skills, leadership and knowledge of
the game. Honu brought in rookie Legends
commander David O’Dell to lead the Red
Team against veteran Legends commander
Ryan Sexton. These two had full plates in
preparation for Hawaiian Legend II, not
only is recruiting much tougher than in the
continental states, but you also have to make
travel and adventure plans as well. Be wary,
Hawaii simply cannot be a weekend trip, you
would do a disservice to yourself, your loved
ones traveling with you and the exotic state
by not experiencing as much as you can that
Hawaii has to offer. With all that stacked
against these two commanders, they were

still able to get 200+ in attendance including
family and friends, 135 of them were ready
to pour their souls into a chance at glory and
victory. Once everyone was registered, the
safety and rule speeches were completed
and the markers loaded, battle was ready
to commence. Every combatant lined their
starting positions in the jungle-like heat
with war pulsing through their arteries. All
was quiet, ready for the start, every warrior
focused on bloodlust as they listened to
the waves crash against the neighboring
beach, waiting for that countdown. The start
screeched through the air and they were
off, soldiers raging towards each other to
claim domination. Blue team started out
20 players less than Red team but it did
not make a difference. Sexton utilized his
experience and skills to gain an early lead,
a lead that Blue team would have to dig in
deep to overcome.
Being that Maui is an island, and the field was
built with a special feel to it, Honu decided
