The locals make up the field ref staff at Maui
Paintball and a group of them throughout the
weekend took turns either playing or reffing
throughout the weekend. Solstice Law, being
led by head referee Dave Patton, were back to
add their magic to another Legends event. It
is hard to find a more motivated and positive
ref staff in the business and when you mixed
in the local refs/players it was a complete win
for all the ballers that showed up to enjoy
this game. Solstice Law has become one
of the most sought after ref staff in scenario
paintball due to their safety consciousness,
their motivation and their excitement about
the game. The local ref/players know the
game, know the field, know the players and
they love everything. The combination of
these refs made for an amazing weekend for
each and every player. Photographers are
another group of people that add a special
twist to each and every game by putting
their bodies and equipment on the line and
making us look like heroes. In attendance for
Hawaiian Legend was a photographer that
was wearing more than one hat throughout
the weekend. Jessica Cortez, known as the
field “Auntie”, is the Jill of all trades. She
was witnessed photographing players and
reffing at times but she also helps the kids
stay organized and safe, and she keeps all
the markers working. She definitely provides
a special twist to Hawaiian Legend. A truly
special thanks goes out to the refs and
photographers that make our games so
amazing and to the ones that made Hawaiian
Legend II an incredible event. A huge thank
you to DJ Honu Fox, Lani Fox and CPX Events
for providing another great opportunity
for us to experience the game we love and
thank you to Clint Hansen and Maui Paintball
for providing a unique and exquisite field to
host this experience. Congratulations to
Ryan Sexton and the Blue team for a well
fought victory and we hope to see everyone
back for Hawaiian Legend III.
