to breathe life into the format, Inception
Designs and NFG, attended the event
with a show trailer offering tech services
and sales. Inception’s Simon Stevens was
often to be found wandering the field with
his phone, recording and, when possible,
live-steaming the action alongside the
legendary Will Arroyo of Ground Zero
fame. Inception and NFG’s late lunch/
early dinner spread, featuring freshly
caught crab, sausage, corn, potatoes and
even a rack or two of ribs, drew a great
deal of attention as the smell of amazing
food wafted into the nearby staging areas.
Players and refs came for the food and
stayed to check out the amazing selection
of custom Autocockers along with Stella
barrels and other products offered by the
New Jersey company.
somewhat intimate in feel, no game was a
walk-over as the event started in the woods,
then moved onto the adjacent, spectator-
friendly Hyperball field after lunch. The
wooded field used for the event was a
fun one with plenty of bunkers of varying
size and construction, wide with a dense
center portion that often split each game
into two smaller games played alongside
one-another, the winning team often the
one able to keep communication going
from side-to-side and push, counter,
and move bodies around as needed. A
large boat in the geographical center of
the field and a large set of bunkers on
the nearby staging area tapeline often
became the focal points of several guns,
with each team sending fast players to
take ground, apply pressure and get
angles, and it wasn’t long before the
woods were turned bright pink by gallons
